Infrastructure Services : Public or Private Cloud ?

The opposition has never been stronger between the Public Cloud and the Private Cloud. For some years now the Experts tell us the semantic distinctions between Public Cloud, Private Cloud and Hybrid Cloud (the latter deserves an article in itself). But what about an operational way? Public cloud (from the English Public Cloud), may be a rough translation (for our french readers – the article in french here), it expresses implementation of Cloud “shared” or “shared” by suppliers. It is widely shared in Public? Certainly not! The Private Cloud (from Private Cloud), within this framework there is no ambiguity. Private: ie only one who uses it. Nothing is shared. The Infrastructure Services (Infrastructure Services, IaaS) are they divided in their implementation? How far can we talk about sharing? If you take the example of your mobile phone, is it a shared infrastructure with other subscribers to the service? Are you less “private” when you make calls? To see more clearly, we must enter into the details of the issues and needs of companies: security, performance, elasticity, payment. For infrastructure services look eg networks, servers, storage space, data. Are shared? Rather are they mutualized? Which of these services is it acceptable to share with others as we do with our mobile phone? This is, of course,  to allow the promise of the Cloud: a utility computing. what is the point for your network to be private? A shared virtual machine?
